Position Description:


Assists Regional Operations Manager in directing the mobile engineering group’s operations and maintenance of all assigned buildings; provides direct support to field operations. Cover for Mobile Engineers during absences.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Comply with all EPA, OSHA & ASHRAE rules, requirements, procedures and guidelines.
  • Follow up on preventive maintenance on the building’s, HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire control, and building management systems; conduct monthly review of PMs to ensure completed in a timely manner
  • Follow up with Facilities Managers re: satisfaction of completed work orders
  • Maintain staffing schedules; approve vacation requests
  • Maintain an inventory of all tools, equipment, and vehicles issued
  • Conduct roof inspections semi-annually with the assigned Engineer
  • Provide training and supervision aimed at expanding the capabilities of the mobile engineer staff; demonstrate the proper use and care of tools and instrument; give hands on instruction in basic maintenance, safety, and troubleshooting procedures; and instill an overall level of professionalism in manner and appearance
  • Insure the availability of adequate operating inventory of tools, supplies, and vehicles
  • Interact with client(s) in a professional manner
  • Immediately inform Regional Operations Manager of any problems
  • Assist in coordinating the completion of any construction projects
  • Develop, maintain, and participate in building on-call schedule
  • Maintain a record and copy of all building keys
  • Insure shop areas, mechanical, and electrical rooms are kept clean, orderly, and safe at all times
  • Complete all work orders assigned in a timely manner
  • Maintain working knowledge of building controls to include: electrical, plumbing, mechanical, building access, security, fire, and elevators
  • Maintain knowledge of all building contracts and vendors
  • Handle other duties as assigned

Education and Experience

  • Associates Degree (A.A.) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school or a minimum of three to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • General knowledge in all building management systems to include fire and life safety, plumbing, HVAC and building automation, electrical distribution, ventilation, elevators
  • Valid, clean driver’s license
  • Familiar with fire/life safety equipment/procedures
  • Proven record of delivering excellent internal and external customer service
  • Strong leadership skills
  • Demonstrated verbal and written commutation skills
  • Should be familiar with blueprints and code requirements
  • Must have experience in supervising Maintenance Technicians
  • Knowledge of EPA, OSHA, ASHRAE, IAQ, Refrigerant, Asbestos
  • Energy Management Systems
  • Universal or Type II certification required
  • Ability to communicate effectively and clearly with tenants, vendors, employees, and visitors
  • Must be able to read and write English in order to understand manuals and procedures and to write reports
  • Basic working knowledge of work order system and building operation systems; proficiency with Microsoft Outlook and other computer programs a plus

Physical Demands

  • Ability to lift at least 50 lbs., work from heights, and verify colors
