Position Description:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Oversees the following processes:

  • Enters invoices for various properties into Atrium’s online disbursement system
    • Answers vendor and property management inquiries
    • Partners with Facility Managers on correcting invoices and ensuring they are paid in a timely manner
    • Prepares check requests
    • Reconciles purchase card receipts
    • Applies cash and approve batches
    • Distributes accounting reports
  • Prepares cash journal entries monthly
  • Prepares rent payments monthly
  • Assists in monthly closings
  • Reviews invoices for all management fees to Lincoln Harris
  • Ensures accuracy of data entry
  • Meets weekly and monthly deadlines for reporting
  • Trains new accounting employees
  • Approves payroll and vacation/sick time for direct reports
  • Handles other duties as assigned

Supervises a Senior Accountant and several Accounting Assistants

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Accounting, or related field preferred
  • At least three (3) years of Accounting experience required
  • Real estate experience a plus
  • Ability to maintain a proactive approach and readiness to handle Client concerns and processes as well as unexpected emergencies
  • Intermediate proficiency with computer programs including Word, Excel, and Outlook email
  • Ability to communicate effectively and clearly, both verbally and in writing, with vendors, managers, and employees
  • Proven record of providing excellent internal and external customer service
  • Ability to exercise independent judgment
  • Must maintain the highest level of professionalism and confidentiality
  • Strong interpersonal skills; excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Attention to detail and a high level of accuracy; focused/driven
  • Ability to be flexible to handle multiple and changing priorities; sense of urgency
  • Demonstrated ability to multi-task and manage a large workload
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment; requires minimal supervision
  • Ability to take direction from multiple sources
  • Ability to grasp issues/assignments quickly
  • Self-motivated with excellent time management and organizational skills; ability to meet weekly and monthly deadlines and balance workload during cyclical periods
  • Ability to work in an open office/cubicle environment

Language Skills
Must be able to read, understand, and write the English language in order to communicate effectively and comprehend invoices and reports
