| Bank of America is making another exciting contribution to the skyline and streetscape of Uptown Charlotte with a new 32-story office tower, 1 Bank of America Center. Encompassing approximately 750,000 square feet, it will be linked by a transparent Winter Garden to the 147-room Ritz-Carlton Hotel. A renovated sky bridge over College Street will connect the Winter Garden to Founders Hall. The project also includes a renovation of the College Street façade and retail spaces within Founders Hall.
The Ritz-Carlton Charlotte opened October 2009 and will be linked to 1 Bank of America Center by a transparent urban garden. Two new sky bridges over College Street will connect the development to Founders Hall. The project also includes a renovation of the College Street façade of Founders Hall. Additional amenities include 20,000 SF of retail in six new spaces, executive parking under the building, an overstreet connection, and adjacency to the light rail line.
The Ritz-Carlton and 1 Bank of America Center are candidates for the US Green Building Council's Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) GOLD standard for New Construction.
